From the title you can guess what this is about. Show me cars that depreciate really slowly. Yes of course my nomination is the most beloved Pontiac G8 GXP. I don't need to spell out the details to you. It is a car almost every jalop would love to have in their garage. If this car wasn't already being brought into the states, under the fuse of a G8 fist and now and SS, it's one of those cars !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Unfortunately, because of how adamantly the car refuses to depreciate, it's still just a bucket list car to own someday. So now show me cars that depreciate a lot more slowly than they should.

The G Wagon. Every other Benz depreciates a shitton per year. Except the G wagon.

These. Around here, a Tacoma with 150K+ miles is still fetching $15,000 on craigslist.. Many are over $20k. Ridiculous.

CTS-V's seem to hold value decently, Toyota Pickups (for how old they are, they're expensive), where I live...any pick up or Subaru, because that's what most Colorado'ns drive.

Its not that it's slow to depreciate, its that since it was discontinued and the GXP variant is quite rare, people have jacked the prices up knowing that if a person wants to buy one, they are going to have to pay a hefty premium

Except for the first gen CTS-V's. Those are priced really low now. I mean low teens. Totally a bargain.

Oh yeah, nobody seems to understand why but yeah they depreciate real slow too. Might as well get a new one instead of looking for CPO or used ones

Well the prices are only gonna get higher. Come 2017 the deal to import holders and make the SS's will be over and these babies will become a rare gem. But still regardless of the reason, they've held their own pretty well

Seconded. My wife wants me to buy a crew cab pickup this year, with reasonable mileage, for under $10k
Dodge Dakotas, Rangers, and Colorado/Canyon twins can be found less than 8 years old, with under 100k, for that price. For a Taco, I'd be paying nearly double that.
Here's one just a few miles from my house that's considered a "good deal," by he market. It was ~$30k new, nearly six years ago. That's only about 40% depreciation in 90k miles and six years.
Here's a list of crew cab trucks within 30 miles of my ZIP code, with similar mileage for under the price of the black Taco. And here is a list of Tacoma trucks in the same area.
Crazy...

They're cool I guess, but they're just not that nice, or that capable as far as a pricey truck goes.

Wow! That's ridiculous! Almost even more ridiculous is the fact that the Frontiers are so expensive too! They weren't a 30k truck brand new, but they want to get $17 grand for a Frontier with 80,000 miles.. it's absurd. Not a market I'd be shopping in right now.

we very nearly bought one. Then we realised it was about as comfortable as fingering a napping crocodile.

GT-R. I did a little research when I read the Dear Doug article about used GT-Rs the other day.
The C6 Z06 and GT-R were direct competitors. in 2009, the GT-R had a base price of just under 70 grand, and the Z06 had a base price of around 74 grand. They're both very, very good cars, and they put up pretty similar performance numbers. The GT-R is faster for the average driver, easier to manage, and full of whiz-bang technology. The Corvette is just as fast as a GT-R in the hands of a pro, makes all the right noises, throws the tail at the slightest provocation, and is, in my judgment, much more fun to drive than the GT-R. So they should, in theory, depreciate at a similar rate.
Average price for a 2009 Z06 according to a nation-wide AutoTrader search is about $48,500. About what you would expect.
Average price for a 2009 GT-R is just over $69,000. Which is insane. That's less than $1000 off the base price when it was brand new.

R32 Golf. I understand why they would hold their value, but other Golf variants can be had for MUCH less. This one is listed for $20K:

Subaru WRX and STI after the 2010 can't be found for under 26-27 unless it's beat to death or high miles example. The 07-10 is also pricey for their age but are coming down especially in the private seller market.

Jeep Wrangler period. They just hold their value like crazy. I have had three of them and they just don't go down fast at all. Sold one after owning it 2 years for 2k less than I paid for it, one after 4 years for 2k more than I paid for it, and one I had for 10 years for $1,500 less than I paid for it. I have been casually looking at the JK's, but even the '07's are selling within a few thousand of what they sold for new. I would prefer newer than '12 when they got the hp bump, but too expensive for now.

Yeah that's absolutely true. At this point, its better to just buy a new wrx. The only reason to go for the 07 up is the hatchback. Other than that, a waste of money for someone else's monster energy snow drift/rally car

Damn yes. Why the hell didn't think of wranglers? I mean with their awful MPG's you'd think people will be lining up to get rid of them cheap but even during the recession, those things held their value's steady. Major points to you for this suggestion
